Where to eat in Bordeaux? Quality restaurants in Bordeaux
A hidden address on the corner of the “Pont de la la Mousque” street between the Grand Théatre and Place du Parlement. We love the cellar, the friendliness, the revisited cuisine and the size of the room, which resembles our own dining room: 20 tables, no more! Book!
In the heart of the St Pierre district, a fishery, a wine bar and a restaurant with a 50s bistro feel. Open 7/7, it’s the fish specialist. A sure bet: fresh, tasty and full of atmosphere.

Bordeaux gourmet kitchen restaurants
Michelin-starred restaurant in Bordeaux. Features a “bistro” floor and a “gastronomic” floor. The bistro’s value for money makes it one of our favorites. Reservations are essential, especially if you want a romantic table overlooking the Place de la Bourse. Open 7 days a week.
Located right next door to our second establishment, “la maison d’hôtes l’Invitation au Voyage” on rue Paul Louis Lande (Musée d’Aquitaine), we’ve just opened a second address,“Son of the Son” (Palais Gallien). This cosy restaurant, with a view of the brigade at work, has been tried and tested by many of our visitors. Light budget at lunchtime. Great game in the evening. Go with your eyes closed! Gault et Millau.
So impressed that we came back twice during the same stay … this is the impression left by Arcada (rue de la Rousselle). Michelin and Gault et Millau 2022. Superb.

Doing things the local way
Where Bordeaux locals have been queuing for over 65 years … Why? For its secret sauce, of course! But also for the consistency of the experience. 1 single menu: Salad with walnuts / Faux filet in strips, inimitable sauce and home fries / choice of dessert. Arrive around 11.45am or 6.45pm for the first service.
LA BRASSERIE DU PASSAGE ST MICHEL
The address for Sunday lunchtimes, after the market. Brasserie-style cuisine, a setting that feels like a cross between a brocante and a Parisian brasserie, with white tablecloths and classic decor. Maitre restaurateur.
To have lunch with the people who work at Galeries Lafayette or in local real estate offices. Our go-to address on shopping days for 15 years. Quiet place and cuisine just the way we like it: relaxed.
